This week on Teesside: September 16th-22nd

James Cartwright looks back at another week of action from football on Teesside. 

Marske United 

Marske enjoyed another fantastic week as they won back-to-back games, scoring five times and keeping two clean sheets. On Saturday they beat Penrith 2-0 before notching up a 3-0 win at Stockton Town. New signing Mikey Roberts netted his first two goals for the club.

New football podcast, @NEFootballPodcast, was there to get the reaction to the game.

Guisborough Town 

Lee Mason and Gareth Bainbridge netted for North Shields as they defeated the Priorymen 2-0 at the KGV.

Billingham Synthonia 

Synners earned their first home point of the season with a 2-2 draw with Newcastle Benfield on Wednesday night.

Billingham Town 

Billingham Town dropped points in their quest for promotion as they were held at home by Esh Winning.

Although they have this weekend off to prepare for Tuesday’s trip to Northallerton Town after their game at Crook Town has been called off due to a need for pitch maintenance.

 Thornaby 

The Blues enjoyed another great away game as they netted five on the road for the second straight game. The rich scoring form has coincided with the arrival of Kallum Hannah from Stockton Town. The forward was at it again with a brace.
