This week on Teesside: February 3rd-9th

James Cartwright looks back on weekend of action from football in Teesside.

FA Vase

Stockton Town secured their place in the FA Vase Quarter Final with victory over Stourport Swifts.

@NE__Nonleague were also at the game and reflected on the game in their piece here: https://nenonleague.wordpress.com/2018/02/04/a-week-of-quality-fixtures-28-01-03-02/

Joining them at that stage is Marske United who beat Bradford Town 2-0 at the GER Stadium.

Marske photographer, Jaime Grace (@jaigphotography) caught the action which can be seen in this photo album. https://www.jaimegracephotography.co.uk/marskeunitedfc-vs-bradfordtownfc-3-2-18

Northern League Division One

Mason McNeill scored a hattrick as Guisborough Town picked up perhaps their most impressive win of the season with a 3-2 victory at North Shields.

Billingham Synthonia put up a respectable display in their first game following the resignation of Conrad Hillerby.

Northern League Division Two

Billingham Town were involved in a thriller as they ran out 4-3 winners at Esh Winning. A report can be read here: https://eshwinningfc.wordpress.com/2018/02/03/match-report-esh-winning-3-4-billingham-town-3-2-18/

Thornaby went down 2-1 at home to Chester-Le-Street Town. A report can be read here: https://chesterlestreet.football/match/1792-thornaby-vs-chester-le-street-town

North Riding Senior Cup

Middlesbrough’s youngsters proved too much for Redcar Athletic as they secured a comfortable 7-0 win. @SportonTees was there to catch the action.

James’s game of the week

The game to attend this weekend is Billingham Town v Northallerton Town. It’s a chance to see the leaders of Division Two and a side that drew 6-6 last weekend. Perhaps a sign there’s going to be goals.

Alternatively there’s also cup action in Thornaby as The Dubliners take on Old Malton St Marys in the North Riding County Cup Semi-Finals at The Harold Wilson Recreation Centre with a 2pm kick off.
